Praised for her ‘impeccable tone, pitch, dynamics and phrasing’ (Chestnut Hill Local), violinist Rebecca Harris performs on both period and modern instruments. A specialist in the field of historically informed performance, Ms. Harris has been a member of Tempesta di Mare since 2007 and appears on the ensemble’s orchestral recordings for Chandos. Ms. Harris is the concertmaster of the Philadelphia Bach Collegium in their series Bach@7 in collaboration with Choral Arts Philadelphia. As a chamber musician and soloist, recent seasons have included performances for Music at Gretna, the University of Pennsylvania, the Society for Eighteenth Century Music and Haydn Society of North America, Ensemble la Bernardinia, and Live Connections, amongst others. Ms. Harris has served on the faculty of the Curtis Summerfest Young Artist Summer Program, and is a Teaching Artist of The Philadelphia Orchestra’s School Partnership Program. Born and raised in the United Kingdom, Rebecca studied in the specialist music program at Wells Cathedral School and at the Royal Northern College of Music with Richard Ireland.
